EMERGENCY RESPONSE INFORMATION

FIRST AID PROCEDURES:
Eyes: Irrigate with flowing water immediately and continuously for 15 minutes. Consult medical personnel.

Skin: Wash off with flowing water or shower.

Ingestion: No adverse effects anticipated. Consult a Physician if large amounts are consumed.

Note to Physician: No specific antidote. Supportive care. Treatment based on judgment in response to reactions of patient. Product is a mild caustic solution.

FIRE FIGHTING INFORMATION:
Noncombustible and will not burn. Wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus.

Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire.

SPILL OR LEAK HANDLING INFORMATION:
Clean up floor areas. Product creates a slippery condition. Shovel or pump into a container for storage, disposal, or reuse.

HEALTH EFFECTS:
Eyes: Product may cause very slight, temporary cornea injury. May cause moderate eye irritation.

Skin contact: Prolonged or repeated exposure not likely to cause significant skin irritation. May cause more severe response if confined to skin or if skin is cut or scratched.

REACTIVITY INFORMATION:

Incompatibility: Reacts and neutralizes acid solutions.
Hazardous Decomposition Products: None.
Hazardous Polymerization will not occur.


ACCIDENT PREVENTION INFORMATION

PERSONAL PROTECTION MEASURES:
Eye Protection: Safety glasses should be sufficient for most operations when mixing into liquid acids. Be careful of splashing of acids when mixing.

Skin Protection: Use protective rubber clothing in case of splashing that may occur when mixing with acids. If hands are scratched or cut, use rubber gloves even for brief exposures.

FACILITY CONTROL MEASURES:
Ventilation: Good general ventilation should be sufficient for most conditions.

Storage: Prolonged storage will lead to eventual settling within the product. Always shake container prior to use. Product can freeze but upon thawing, shake or agitate the container vigorously.

Other Protective Equipment: For most conditions, no respiratory protection should be necessary. In an extreme misty atmosphere, use an approved mist respirator.

WASTE DISPOSAL:
Comply with federal, state, and local regulations for disposal. The product is buffered and the maximum pH will not exceed 9.0 for disposal. This complies with most regulatory statutes. Product may be flushed to wastewater treatment plants. This product is a natural occurring mineral, readily usable by plant and animal life and is safe for disposal.

Not regulated as a hazardous material by the US Dept. of Transportation (DOT) 49CFR 172.101 Hazardous
Material Table.

RCRA Status:
Not a hazardous waste under RCRA (40CFR 261). No reportable quantities.

This product does not contain a “CERCLA” listed hazardous substance for emergency release notification under
Sec. 304 (40CFR 302).
